Evaluation Planner

Analyze your program and draft an evaluation plan, all in a few clicks. 

Who this is for: This app was developed for Ontario nonprofits. It works best for programs that provide services directly to clients/participants.

How it works: 

  1. Use the link below to launch the Evaluation Planner.  

  2. Share information about your organization and program. Click "Execute" and wait a minute or two.

  3. The app will produce a draft evaluation plan for your program, including a logic model, timeline, roles and responsibilities, and program analysis. 

  4. Select, copy and paste all the text into to a new Google or Word document.

  5. Work with your team and other decision makers (e.g., advisory members) to review the draft plan with a critical eye. Do the evaluation questions reflect your values and priorities? Are the methods appropriate? Draw on your knowledge of the program to edit and improve the evaluation plan.

  6. Once the plan meets your requirements and truly feels your own, put it into action.

Why we created this app 

This Evaluation Planner is informed by our team’s decades of experience with evaluation and by our understanding of the challenges that evaluation poses for nonprofits. We built this app to make it easier and faster for nonprofits to plan evaluations. It is based on the LogicalOutcomes Evaluation Planning Handbook (Kerr & Llewelyn, 2024), which promotes a pragmatic, user-focused approach to evaluation. The app is meant to help nonprofits jump into what matters: collecting useful information, learning from it, and making program improvements.
