AI App Co-Design: Call for applications
Partner with experts to codesign AI solutions that solve unique challenges for your nonprofit.
This opportunity is free for selected organizations. All development and usage costs are covered until March 31, 2026, after which you take full ownership of your custom tool.
Timeline
Eligibility
Organizations must meet all criteria:
Registered nonprofit offering community-based programs and services in Ontario.
Designated primary contact who can make decisions for your organization.
Committed team of 2-3 staff members who are excited about AI tools and ready to actively use them.
Active participation in bi-weekly meetings for design, testing, and feedback (2-3 hours per week per team member).
Readiness to implement and maintain the AI app.
Funding to cover costs after March 31, 2026 (all costs will be covered until then).
Commitment to share learnings and tools with the broader nonprofit sector.

The AI apps made through co-design will be:
Practical, lightweight applications that address specific, well-defined challenges.
Built using accessible low-code/no-code platforms, to ensure your team can maintain and modify the tool.
Designed to address challenges that are common across nonprofits, so that other organizations can benefit from your solution.
Ideas for apps we can build together
Impact story builder
Transform client feedback and survey data into compelling stories for grant applications and social media. Useful for many client-facing organizations.
AI simulation trainer
Practice challenging conversations with an AI that mimics your clients' experiences and perspectives. Useful for employee training and practice at crisis support organizations.
Workshop design assistant
Generate complete workshop outlines, activities, and materials by describing your topic and audience. Useful for organizations that offer workshops and need to create new material frequently.
Volunteer onboarding guide
A friendly AI assistant that walks new volunteers through onboarding processes and answers common questions. Useful for organizations with frequent volunteer intake.
Website visitor helper
Guide website visitors to resources through an intelligent chat interface. Useful for organizations with comprehensive websites serving diverse populations.
Internal knowledge assistant
A smart assistant that knows your policies and procedures, available 24/7 to answer staff questions. Useful for organizations with complex procedures or staff working different schedules.
